Snowflake Obsidian, tumbled

The Geologist in me wants you to know: Snowflake Obsidians are volcanic rocks formed in the edges of lava flows. Their acidic composition (composed by minerals of the continental crust) and quick cooling/solidification process are responsible of their glassy appearance. The grey spots are crystals of cristobalite (name given to amorphous quartz). The black matrix is mostly of silica.

3/4 to 1" (2-2.5 cm) average size. You will receive one (1) piece.
